Zhu Dongping earned his bachelor degree from Capital Normal University in 1982 and a master degree from Central Academy of Applied Art. From 1998 to 2001, he taught at School of Arts, Tsinghua University. During that time, he studied and did research for one year in South Korea, sponsored by the International Academic Exchange Program. He is professor of graphic design of Xu Beihong School of Arts at Renmin University and head of Department of Art and Design. His works have been selected for many exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He was awarded the First Prize of the First China Design Art Exhibition, silver medal of the fourth and fifth Book Design Art Exhibition, gold medal of Beijing Book Design Art Exhibition,
The Most Beautiful Book in Chinese Universities, China Red Cross Society Commonweal Poster Exhibition and many others. He has published academic papers such as "Book Design in China in New Era", "A Comparative Study on Art & Design Education in China and South Korea". He also compiled many graphic design textbooks and anthology of design works.
