In response to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s call, the Woodwind Teaching and Research Sector at RUC School of Arts, Music Department successfully held a special concert on the 5th Music Festival of the School of Arts of Renmin University of China on October 23.

In order to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese traditional culture, Associate Professor Wang Shen and Associate Professor Fang Boran of the Woodwind Teaching and Research Sector specially invited Professor Chen Zhaorong and Li Yue of the China Conservatory of Music, Associate Professor Liu Zhe of Tianjin Conservatory of Music and Associate Professor Li Jiayin from Zhejiang Conservatory of Music to participate in the performance.

Famous musicians perform famous songs, and the songs of this concert are all like this. The repertoire of this concert are all well-known national songs such as Sunny Mountain and Shepherd Girl, and most of the musical instruments are Western instruments such as flute, clarinet and oboe. Among them, Associate Professor Wang Shen and Associate Professor Li Jiayin took the oboe duo of My Motherland as the finale of the concert, which pushed the atmosphere of the concert to the top. This form of cultural blending for Chinese use has opened up new ideas for the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture.
