Master program study takes three years to finish.Students must take all the required coursesandpresentfinal thesis and defense.Qualified students will get the graduate certificate and degree certificate.As the courseswill be offered in Chinese, theapplicantmust meet the minimum requirement of Chinese language proficiency.If students submit the HSK certificate of level 6, the Chinese written test iswaived. If you cannot provide the HSK certificate, you must take the Chinese proficiency test.For those whose application documents are approved will be asked to participate in the paper test and interview as a way to recognize the applicant’s Chinese language proficiency, academic and artistic skills, and potentials in completing the graduate study.

Admission to our Master’s programs normally requires a four-year bachelor degree majoring in a particular art field, or its equivalent from an accredited university with profound educational background in art.

Admission Procedure

1)The Application Form for Graduate Studies at Renmin University of China;

2)The photocopy of highest degree earned.

3)The original transcript;

4)Two recommendation letters from professors/associate professors

5)Two ID pictures

6)The photocopy of passport (first page)

7)The published articles, books, and other research papers (optional)

8)Personal statement or research plan (no less than 1000 words). The statement should include your education background and experience, research plan, career plan, etc )

9)Applicants for music program are requested to submit a video recording of the music works performed by the applicants. Applicants for the fine art and design programs must submit an individual portfolio including two sketches, two color paintings and two other works

10)Applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months must submit a photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months).

11)Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose the photocopy of it in the application package.

The above documents should be bound on top left corner (in duplicate) in order. Two copies are required. No application documents will be returned.

The joint master program withBurgundy School of Business(BSB) in Dijon, France is provided for the first year graduate students who aspire to pursue a dual master degree in Arts and Cultural Management required to complete the second year study at BSB, and back to RUC for the third year study to finally acquire a Master degree from each institution.
