The Fifth Invitation Exhibition of Famous Chinese and Korean Calligraphers Opens in Beijing

“The Fifth Invitation Exhibition of Famous Chinese and Korean Calligraphers”, co-host by School of Arts, Renmin University of China,  Embassy Culture Center of the Republic of Korea in China on Nov.5th, opened in Korean Culture Center in Beijing.
 
 
 
 
 

Executive President of RUC Yuan Wei, Korea ambassador to China Liu Youyi, China Calligrapher Association president Shen Peng, Korean International Calligraphy Association president Jin Rongji ,China Calligrapher Association vice president Shen Wansheng, dean of School of Arts RUC Xu Qingping, The National Assembly of Republic of Korea Li Zheyu, President of Embassy Culture Center of the Republic of Korea in China Jin Yide, representatives of Chinese and Korean Calligraphers, teachers and students and Korean exchange students from School of Arts RUC and representatives of media, bout 200 people took part in the opening ceremony.
 
 

During the ceremony, Ambassador Liu Youyi and Executive President of RUC Yuan Wei delivered speeches respectively. Ambassador Liu Youyi expressed his Praises to this exhibition which provided a precious chance to the Chinese and Korean art circles and People from all circles who loved calligraphy.  Executive President Yuan Wei pointed out that cultural exchange between the two countries promoted the exchange and co-development of the two countries’ cultures and advanced the friendship between the two countries. Many other guests made speeches in the ceremony, and the two sides exchanged presents.
 
 
 

This exhibition gathered calligraphy works of hundred of calligraphers from the two countries. The calligraphers participating in this activity included Zhao Shougao, Jin Rongji, Jin Bingji, Huang Haoxian, Xuan Zhushan and other calligraphers form Republic of Korea, and Ouyang Zhongshi, Sheng Peng, Zhang Hai, Shen Wansheng and other calligraphers from China. There are famous calligraphers and the young and middle-aged calligraphers who are active in calligraphy circles. 
Famous Chinese and Korean Calligraphers Invitation Exhibition began in 2006, in order to commemorate the 15th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Korea and was held every year. This exhibition will last to Nov. 12th.
