Xu Qingping

Professor

Xu Qingping was born in Beijing in 1946. He holds a doctoral degree in fine arts from University of Paris-Sorbonne. He was professor of Art History and a member of the academic committee of Central Academy of Fine Arts. Concurrently he is Deputy Curator of Xu Beihong Museum, vice Chairman of Chinese Painters and Calligraphers Association and Dean of Xu Beihong Arts Research Academy, Renmin University of China. He is also adviser to doctoral students, recipient of State Council Special Fellowship and member of the C.P.P.C.C. National Committee. His publications include the following: History of Western Art (Translation, 2000, Hainan Publishing House ), Lexicon of Modern Painting (Translation, People Fine Arts Publishing House ), Glory Belongs to Greece (Co-author, 2000, Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House), Gallop On Canvas (Chief editor, 2000, Bai Hua Literature and Arts Publishing House), Ten Major Museums of the World (Chief Editor, 2000, Foreign Languages Press) and Chronology of Xu Beihong (Author). His paintings have been collected by private collectors and organizations around the world. He has held exhibitions in Canada , Singapore and Malaysia.
